My prediction in tomorrows May 22 Provincial Election a Reduced NDP Majority with 4 Liberals including Marvin Krawec in Portage, Paul Hesse in Fort Rouge and Jennifer Lukovich in Seine River. A great campaign for Jon and Company no "faux pas" and a renewed future for the Manitoba Liberal Party. Too little too late in some ridings but well run campaigns by Wayne and Rhonda in the Inner City and some great add ons in Fort Garry and Kirkfield Park have provided some renewed energy to the once dormant party.
Well done Jon , Dennis and Georgina !!!

I was in Portage today and no way is the Liberal going to win. I even heard one of his radio ads, which was scary to say the least. Paul Hesse will win if he is lucky and if you know what is good for you, you will make him leader.
Do you realize that what you write is in the public domain? It is smears such as this that are a barrier for women to get into politics and run for elected office.
Here's hoping that the MB Libs hang onto a foothold there!
Comments on comments....

There will be no Leadership as Jon has persevered and is prepared to go the length but hanks fopr your confidence in Paul.
Becky ..what are you talking about? If you are referring to my knowledge that Kris will loose ..Bluntly I am quite tired of comments from Liberals like you, president of the Liberal Womens Commission that have no foundation in fact and make outlandish assertations based on gossip and inuendo. I simply said Kristine McGhee former Liberal candidate now PC will loose in St.James. At 8 you will see my assertation come true. At the end of the day YOU are way out of line and I request you either apologize OR take my blog off your reading list.
Ryan I am with you Bro!!
Well, I will apologize because I seem to have touched a nerve and it's a bad use of my energy to get into a war of words with anyone, but at the end of the day, more women need to get elected and mean comments (especially in a town such as Winnipeg that get around quickly) are definitely a barrier to that happening.
This has nothing to do with your past with Kristine, I would say the same about anyone if I found comments such as that on anyone's blog.
Becky
Thank you and apology accepted.
On my background on equity concerns I do not know if you know or not but I have worked my entire adult life to ensure a more women of substance enter into politics. Initially my mother had a huge affect on this but later I had the privledge and honour of working for Hon Senator Carstairs, Linda Asper, Sherry Wiebe, Helen Christoffereson, Lynda Haverstock, Ginny Hasselfield and most recently as Manitoba Northwestern Ontrario Director for the Martha Hall Findlay Leadership campaign. I full well realize, see and am motivated to ensure more women of substance enter into politics.
The people have spoke. Erin Selby is a winner along with the other women (one being the first women of colour) the NDP government have elected to office (13 in total)
The party of the people.
The Liberals were lucky to hang on to their 2 seats
Bobbicat,
Some tame comments for once ..what's up with that?
Isn't Canadian politics interesting ...the popularity of a leader can now win whole ridings? The changing nature of how voters tune into the issues ..media exposure and "lack of loyalty to any one brand" is truly taking hold with the Canadian voter. The "me-me-me" is becoming stronger and stronger and immediate gratification of ones owns needs is FAR outweighing the collective needs. Not a very nice trend in my thinking as we as Caandians have always been of the thought to help the betterment of our fellow person and not just oneself.
